Jack Stephens

Dr. Stephens is the founder of Pet insurance in the United States. He has also built and ran several veterinary hospitals. He has been active in veterinary associations as President of the orange Country Chapter of the southern California Veterinary Medical Association and served as President of the SCVMA during 1983. Dr. Stephens received his veterinary degree from the University of Missouri. Skeeter is Dr. Stephens’s team buddy who has made several special therapy visits into hospitals and nursing homes. Today Dr. Stephens is promoting his new pet insurance company Pests Best, soon to be licensed in all 50 states. Skeeter is 15 years old and still very close by Dr. Stephens’s side and offering his canine input.
Vicki Stephens

Mrs. Stephens is active in the Skeeter therapy team program, with three certified therapy dogs, Cooper, a Chihuahua mix, J.R. a Miniature Pinscher, and Obie a Scottish Deer Hound. Vicki is involved in dog sports and also is a certified dog trainer. Mrs. Stephens is the director of the Pet Prescription therapy Team and is responsible for the foundations pet certification program.
A. LeRoy Atwood

Leroy Atwood works in property acquisition and development and construction management. He founded Western Development Corp in 1980. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Wishing Star Foundation.
Louis M. Gatto

Louis M. Gatto is a Certified Public Accountant and is a past president of the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants & Advisors (AVPMCA). Since 1977, he has assisted in the purchase and sale of over three hundred and twenty hospitals or clinics, and valued over two hundred and fifteen veterinary hospitals or clinics and is currently owner of a percentage of five veterinary hospitals. He is a Member of the Business Advisory Board of the California Veterinary Medical Association a graduate of AAHA Veterinary Management Institute (VMI) at Purdue University, and author of numerous articles for VET ECONOMICS, PULSE, CV, and DVM magazines.
Loran Hickton

Loran came up in the restaurant business professionally and was recruited to Bayer Corporation. Loran is experienced in managing all aspects of public relations, with proven leadership skills gained from managing restaurants, corporate event planning for Bayer Corporation and communications for one of the largest veterinary practices in the world: Medical management International / Banfield, The Pet Hospital and additional experience as a publisher of two regional magazines.
Desiree Stimson

Desiree Stimson is the co-owner and Creative Director of DSYL Advertising Agency. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Advertising, from California State University, Fullerton, in 1986. As Creative Director for DSYL, with over 15 years experience, she has been recognized in many publications for her layout and design. At DSYL, she oversees all design and production, and her work includes designs for accounts that include Avery Dennison, Fullerton Museum, Muckenthaler Cultural Center, Nissan Motor Corporation, Pet Best Pet Insurance, Quicksilver, McDonald’s and Peterson Brother’s Construction, to name but a few.
